Scriptless ASP Files
Written by Eric Smith, Northstar Computer Systems LLC
In IIS 4.0, it is more efficient to name all static content files (with no ASP code in them) using a .HTM or .HTML extension. The server doesn’t have to process them through the ASP engine sine it looks at the extension. However, IIS 5.0 is much smarter about processing these so-called scriptless ASP files. The server processes these files much more quickly in IIS 5.0. This means that you can give all your files .ASP extensions, just in case you might need to add ASP code in the future.
