Providing Instant Feedback

Written by Eric Smith, Northstar Computer Systems LLC

One of the best things you can do for your users is to provide as much feedback about various tasks during the run of the application. For instance, a simple thing you can do is to change the cursor to an hourglass if you're busy doing something. You can do this with a single line of code:
Screen.MousePointer = vbHourglass
Make sure you switch it back if you display an error message, for instance. Otherwise, the cursor won't click properly. Here's the reset line of code:
Screen.MousePointer = vbDefault
