One of ADO’s nicer features is its ability to work with large recordsets on a page-by-page basis. This means that if you have a recordset of 1000 records and only want to see the 7th page of 50 records, you can do this quite easily. Here’s how:
1. Open the recordset as a static recordset — not a forward-only one.
2. Set the PageSize property to 50 to indicate that you want to divide the records into 50 record segments.
3. Set the AbsolutePage property to the page you want.
4. Loop through the recordset until you’ve read 50 records (keep a counter) or hit the end of the recordset (EOF property = True).
You can also add a page browser by looking at the PageCount property of the recordset (after the PageSize has been set). If you have an odd number of records, the PageCount property will have an extra page for the odd records. For instance, 1001 with a PageSize of 50 would give a PageCount of 21.
