Database Field Dump

Written by Eric Smith, Northstar Computer Systems LLC

Ever forget what the fields are in the recordset you just queried? You can write them out as comments to your page just by looping through the Fields collection. Here's how you can do it, assuming you've got a valid recordset objecct:
Dim i   ' As Integer
For i = 0 To rsData.Fields.Count - 1
   Response.Write "<!-- " & rsData.Fields.Name & " -->" & vbCrLf
Next   ' i
This will list the fields as comments that you can view in the HTML output. Remember that you can use the WriteComment function shown in a previous tip, which can allow you to suppress debug messages when you go to production mode.
